The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Tuesday's Best NCAAB Bet

North Carolina Tar Heels at Boston College Eagles (2.5)

The Tar Heels are starting to peak during conference play thanks to star freshman Harrison Barnes. And the Eagles are taking a step back as standout senior guard Reggie Jackson can’t even get off the bench.

North Carolina has gone 8-2 SU and 5-4 ATS over its past 10 games, posting victories over Virginia, Virginia Tech and Miami. Over that stretch, Barnes has cracked double-figures eight times and is averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this year.

“He’s a gifted young man who’s been wanting to break out,” North Carolina coach Roy Williams said. “I really did feel this: once we got into ACC play you have to raise it a level. I had a hunch that he might play better because he’s gone through all those other experiences, and he’s the kind of young man who learns from those things.”

Meantime, Jackson, second in the Atlantic Coast Conference in points (18.5) and assists (5) per game, was benched at the start of the first and second halves of an 84-68 loss to Duke. And don’t expect it to change anytime soon as coach Steve Donahue gave a cryptic answer when asked about his star riding the pine.

“(I’m) trying to build a program, and practice matters,” the first-year coach said. “Kids who practice well get rewarded with playing time. Dallas Elmore has done a very good job and so has Corey (Raji). I thought both of those guys deserved to start based on how well they’ve done in practice over the last couple of weeks.”

Pick: North Carolina

PICK 'N' ROLL

Tuesday's Best NBA Bet

Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers (-8.5, 207)

Derek Fisher wants no part of Houston’s guards. In two games against the Rockets this season, the Lakers have gone 1-1, but Fisher was destroyed by Kyle Lowry, Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin.

“I am not overly concerned about myself,” Fisher said. “This is a team game.”

In the team’s first meeting, a 112-110 Lakers win that saw the Rockets cover (+6.5), Fisher went a mere 1-of-7 from the floor for 2 points as he finished minus-8. However, Brooks finished 7-of-16 from the field for 24 points and Martin was 8-for-17 for 26 and the duo went 13-of-13 from the free-throw line. In the second meeting, a 109-99 win by the Rockets that again saw them cover (+5.5), Fisher was 2-of-9 from the field for five points and a putrid minus-13.

Again, Fisher was torched. Martin was 6-for-17 from the field for 22 points and Lowry, filling in for an injured Brooks, had 10 assists and 8 points.

Their ability to get past Fisher and the Lakers other guards has allowed them to make up for a lack of talent in the paint. Despite Los Angeles having a stronger frontcourt, the Lakers have outscored the Rockets just 88-84 in the paint in two games.

"We're an inconsistent team on defense right now," Lakers forward Lamar Odom said. "We have to get back at practice and keep working on it."

Pick: Houston

ICE PICKS

Tuesday's Best NHL Bets

Colorado Avalanche at St. Louis Blues (-135, 5.5)

It’s safe to say that the Avalanche might not be able to keep a beach ball out of their net at this point.

No. 1 goalie Craig Anderson has been hampered by injuries this season and his bad numbers – 3.13 goals-against average and .903 save percentage – led to him ultimately being pulled after coughing up four goals in just two periods of a 6-2 loss to Boston in his last start.

Backup Peter Budaj has been just as bad. He has a 3.17 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage and has allowed at least three goals in 12 of his past 13 starts. The only outing he failed to yield at least three? A 5-2 loss to Phoenix in which he was pulled after allowing two goals on just nine shots midway through the first period.

Overall, Colorado has seen the over hit in 32 of 49 games this season and the past five overall.

Meantime, the Blues have struggled to play defense as well, seeing the over hit in three of their past four games. During that span, the team has given up at least four goals each time out.

St. Louis also likely will be without reliable forward Andy McDonald (17 points) and talented defender Barret Jackman, who are both hobbled by injuries.

Pick: Over

Philadelphia Flyers at Tampa Bay Lightning (-120, 5.5)

The best place for the Philadelphia Flyers to start the second half of the season is the place it has had the most success this season: the road.

The Flyers are an NHL-best 17-5-3 on enemy ice this season and their success in opposing buildings is a huge reason the team sits atop the Eastern Conference and is tied for the most points in the league. The Flyers were on a white-hot, 8-2 run before the All-Star Game, winning five of those games by at least two goals.

"We had a little meeting before we left, and I think it's important that our guys get some rest," said Flyers All-Star forward Claude Giroux. "There's not one guy who's not excited about the rest of the season. . . . When you have that run, like last year, you just get more hungry. We were so close last year, and it just makes you want more."

The reason for the Lightning being favored in the game is that Tampa Bay has pulled off a pair of unexpected, one-goal wins over the Flyers this season. The Lightning had a 3-2 win in Philadelphia in October, before returning to Pennsylvania for a wild, 8-7 win in November.

However, the Flyers are playing even better than either time Tampa Bay visited this season and the Orange and Black is easily the game’s top road play.

Pick: Philadelphia

Bettors' Best Friend (BBF): Tuesday's Wagering Tips

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Andrew Bynum, Los Angeles Lakers – Bynum missed part of the third quarter on Sunday with a sore left knee and then skipped practice on Monday. While it definitely looks like the knee is bothering him significantly as he tries to get up and down the floor lately, coach Phil Jackson says Bynum wants to play Tuesday against Houston. Bynum averages 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Number To Remember

0 – Number of wins the Illinois Fighting Illini have when scoring fewer than 60 points. The Illini have struggled at the offensive end of the floor recently, averaging only 61.8 points over their last five – down from 73.6 points per game on the season. Illinois dropped a 52-49 decision at Indiana as a 4-point favorite last week.

Key Trends

NHL: The New York Islanders have lost five of their last six games.

NHL: The Ottawa Senators have lost eight of their last nine contests overall.

NHL: The under is 39-14-1 in Washington’s last 54 games.

NHL: Pittsburgh has won nine of its last 12 meetings with the New York Rangers.

NBA: Washington has covered the number four times in its last 16 contests.

NBA: San Antonio is riding a 7-2-1 run ATS and has played under in 10 of the club’s last 12 games.

NCAAB: Purdue has covered in seven of its last nine meetings with Wisconsin.

NCAAB: Illinois has dropped four of its last five against the spread.

Tips And Notes

The Florida Gators feel that their SEC title hopes may come down to their next two games, both at home. The No. 23 Gators, who sit atop the SEC at 5-2 straight up, host No. 24 Vanderbilt Tuesday before Kentucky comes to town Saturday night. One area of concern for Florida is its free-throw shooting. The Gators hit just 65.2 of their attempts from the charity stripe and senior center Vernon Macklin – the team’s third-leading scorer – is shooting only 40 percent from the line.

The NBA’s second-best 3-point shooter will accompany the San Antonio Spurs on the club’s upcoming three-game road trip. Matt Bonner, who is hitting 50.4 percent of his trey attempts this season, is getting closer to coming back from a bone marrow edema in his right knee that stems from a collision on Jan. 12. He has been shooting more at practice recently, though he’s probably doubtful for Tuesday’s game against Portland. The Spurs head into the game riding a franchise-best 40-7 SU start.

The Pittsburgh Penguins were hoping to have Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin back after the All-Star break, but Pens bettors are going to have to wait a little longer. Crosby has been cleared for light workouts as he recovers from a concussion though it’s not likely we’ll see him suiting up anytime soon. The status of Malkin’s knee is a bit more encouraging. He participated in the team’s practice on Monday and while he won’t play Tuesday, he seems to be making some progress.
